Born joins AGRD Partners – creating a next-generation legal platform – and leaving the Swedish Bar Association to enable future growth
Born has joined AGRD Partners, an innovative alliance of six leading business law firms in Sweden. Together, we are building a next-generation legal services platform powered by innovation, technology, and smart collaboration – all designed to deliver greater value and impact for our clients. AGRD Partners combines specialist expertise in corporate and commercial law, public and private M&A, banking and finance, technology, real estate, and employment law. With around 250 professionals across eight offices nationwide, the group enters the market as one of Sweden’s ten largest business law firms by revenue from day one.
While forming a united platform through AGRD Partners, Born and the other member firms will continue to operate as independent firms – maintaining their unique brands, client relationships, and areas of expertise, while benefiting from the shared strength, resources, and innovation of the AGRD network.
With ambitious plans for growth in Sweden and internationally, AGRD Partners is establishing a modern, forward-looking platform for business law – designed for long-term investment, innovation, and sustainable development. The platform is specifically tailored to meet the needs of business clients operating in a fast-changing, innovation-driven environment, where new ways of working and delivering legal services are essential to stay ahead.
Membership in the Swedish Bar Association restricts law firms from taking in external ownership capital under the Association’s own rules. To enable future investment and continued growth, Born – together with the other member firms of AGRD Partners – has therefore chosen to leave the Bar Association.
The AGRD Partners Code of Conduct now replaces the Bar Association’s framework for Born. Based on ethical principles, it provides client protection and professional integrity, while being better aligned with the needs of modern business law – focused on corporate and commercial clients rather than individual or criminal practice.
“This marks the beginning of a new era for business law in Sweden. We are building a structure that unites top-tier legal expertise with technology, business insight, and true innovation. For our clients, this means faster processes, smarter delivery, and advice that’s one step ahead of the market and more tailored for their needs” says Erik Borgblad, Founding Partner at Born
